Below are lists of National and Regional counseling organizations.
NOTE: The following list in no way implies endorsement or certification by MarriageVine of any organization's or individual's qualifications, ability, or proficiency to counsel. The purpose and objectives of this list are strictly informative and educational. The official position of MarriageVine on Christian counseling is that persons seeking Christian counseling should consult with their pastors and trusted Christian friends in their community first as they seek how to find a Christian counselor or organization that can help meet their needs.
Christian
Counseling Education Foundation (CCEF)
Counseling education, counseling resources, seminars, courses
Membership: All of our faculty adhere to the statement that the biblical counselor, by definition, is committed to the Old and New Testaments as the only authoritative rule of faith and practice. Both the faith and conduct of the biblical counselor, as well as his counseling theory and practice, are formed by the standards of Scripture. (Doctrinal Statement)
Philosophy: The mission of the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) is to see hearts transformed as God applies his Word to the problems of life. God's grace, God's Word, and God's people are what Christians need for personal change, spiritual growth, and help with the pressing problems of life. Sadly, many in the church look elsewhere for help. They don't see how the Bible connects with their problems. Others think biblical counseling is nothing more than throwing a Bible verse at a problem - and they've seen that approach come up empty. CCEF leads a biblical counseling movement that teaches people how to explore the rich wisdom of Scripture and apply it to the complexities of human life.

Christian
Care Network (CCN)
Network of Christian counselors with membership in the American
Association of Christian Counselors
Membership: The Christian Care Network (CCN), a division of AACC is a national referral network of community and church-based, licensed professional counseling providers…committed to providing biblical, theological, and psychological truth that ministers to the soul of a hurting person and helps them move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity. CCN members have demonstrated minimal requirements and competencies for clinical excellence and Biblical integration in Christ-centered care." (Mission Statement, CCN Statement)
Philosophy: The CCN is committed "to promoting the advancement of Christian counseling and the integration of Christian theology with psychology, psychiatry, and mental health. The ultimate goal of Christian counseling is to help others move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity. Christian counselors do not presume that all clients want or will be receptive to explicit spiritual interventions in counseling. We obtain consent that honors client choice, receptivity to these practices, and the timing and manner in which these things are introduced: prayer for and with clients, Bible reading and reference, spiritual meditation, the use of biblical and religious imagery, assistance with spiritual formation and discipline, and other common spiritual practices." (Statement of Faith, Consent for Biblical-Spiritual Practices in Counseling)
Caveat: Christians should carefully discuss attempts at integration of Christian theology with psychology, psychiatry, and mental health. For more on this, see David Powlison's book, Seeing With New Eyes: Counseling and the Human Condition through the Lens of Scripture (Phillipsburg, NJ: P&R Publishing, 2003).

National
Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC)
Counseling referrals, counseling resources and seminars
Membership: Membership subscribes to the Scriptures as the only authoritative standard for their counseling and who adhere to our Statement of Faith and Standards of Conduct of this Association. The biblical counselor performs his service as part of the ministry of the Christian church. The biblical counselor's role consists of showing the counselee that in order to be relieved of his problems biblically, his motives, thinking and behavior must conform to the concepts and standards of the Scriptures. (Constitution, Standards of Conduct)
Philosophy: The purpose of the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors is to encourage, acknowledge and standardize counseling and counselor training done by Christian clergymen and laymen who are committed to the Scriptures (both the Old and New Testaments) as the only authoritative rule of faith and practice. Both the beliefs and conduct of the biblical counselor, as well as his counseling theory and practice, are formed by the standards of Scripture. (Mission Statement)

New
Life Ministries
Counseling referrals, counseling resources and seminars
Membership: New Life Ministries is a community of professional Christian counselors that look to serve as an agent of healing and transformation in the lives of people worldwide. We are a network of thousands of Christian therapists inclusive of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, addictions specialists, pastoral counselors, child counselors, etc. (Overview; Membership Application )
Philosophy: We believe it is essential to integrate Scripture and psychology into the counseling process and to be able to discard principles and training that are inconsistent with Scripture. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God and believe that all psychological principles should be thoroughly evaluated through the grid of Scripture, and that Scripture always holds the final authority. (Statement of Faith, Becoming a Christian Counselor)
Caveat: Christians should carefully discuss attempts to integrate Scripture and psychology into the counseling process. For more on this, see David Powlison's book, Seeing With New Eyes: Counseling and the Human Condition through the Lens of Scripture (Phillipsburg, NJ: P&R Publishing, 2003).

Peacemaker
Ministries
Marital conflict resolution, Christian conciliation of all disputes,
resources, seminars
Membership: Peacemaker Ministries mission is to equip and assist Christians and their churches to respond to conflict biblically. We prepare church leaders, adults, and children for peacemaking through educational resources, seminars, and training. We also provide conflict coaching, mediation, and arbitration services to resolve church and ministry disputes, lawsuits, family divisions, and business conflicts. (Our Mission)
Philosophy: Peacemaker Ministries (PM) has four distinctives: The Necessity of Biblical Counseling , The Comprehensiveness of God's Word , The Centrality of Christ, and The Responsibility of the Church. They believe destructive conflict comes from desires that battle within people's hearts. Therefore, we do not merely try to resolve surface issues. We also counsel parties to find their fulfillment in Christ, renounce sinful desires and actions that have contributed to conflict, and seek genuine reconciliation with others. We believe that God's Word is totally authoritative and completely sufficient for all aspects of life, and his peacemaking commands and promises apply to every conflict a Christian can encounter. Setting
Captives Free

purity, smoking and gluttony, with daily on line mentoring and
accountability
Membership: Setting Captives Free exists to offer Christ-centered Hope and Freedom to those in the grip of sin through accountability to Bible-based Truth resulting in the true enjoyment of Life in and for the Glory of God. Setting Captives Free Mentors go through Setting Captives Free's free 60-day courses, the 120-day Mentorship Course, and study other biblical resources. Our mentors are also encouraged to continue to NANC certification or IABC training, which many are doing. All Setting Captives Free's mentors obtain approval and recommendation from their pastor via the SCF Mentor Pastor/Elder Approval Form. (Mission Statement, E-mail submission from Founder & President, Mike Cleveland)
Philosophy: We are an alternative to psychology, Christian or otherwise. We believe in biblical counseling and that God's Word is sufficient for all the problems of mankind. We affirm the power and sufficiency of God's Word, as applied by God's Spirit, without any other man-devised resources, to heal and deliver man from sin and self. We watch people become totally new creations in Christ, who have previously been to the world, or to integrationists for many years. We know God made the human heart and therefore only God can fix the human heart, and He does so through His Word, apart from any additions or discoveries by man.
